flames lick
at munch’s
naked frame
smoke and ash
darken
his hair
face staring
out from
canvas
eyes somehow
indifferent
to the fires
but in

circle

oil serpents &
cranes &
fish &
rivers&
lakes &
leaves &
grass &
rainbows &
jackson pollock
drunk again
together on a
fiberboard circle
